Flyway Taxidermy

Flyway Taxidermy works exclusively on birds, including waterfowl, upland game birds, and other avian species.

You can choose from custom bird displays such as wall mounts, tabletop pieces, coffee table scenes, and glass-case trophies, often set on driftwood, rocks, or detailed habitat bases.

Jerry founded Flyway Taxidermy in 1999 and is a three-time Best in World Waterfowl Champion and National Taxidermists Association National Champion and Award of Excellence recipient.

He personally mounts an estimated 300–400 birds per year, studies live birds in his adjacent aviary, and focuses on lifelike anatomy, natural behavior, and detailed custom designs.

Flyway Taxidermy uses species-based flat pricing with example rates such as about $645 for many ducks and upland game birds, $745–$845 for most sea ducks and geese, and around $1,000 for large Canada-type geese, plus a 50% non-refundable deposit, extra USDA import and habitat fees, and crate costs starting at $150 per box.

Standard turnaround is listed as a minimum of 24 months from when your birds arrive, and reviews indicate some projects have taken significantly longer, so you should discuss timing and expectations directly before committing.

The studio offers extensive custom habitat scenes (including water, ice, snow, marsh, mud, and rock effects), glass display cases, nationwide shipping for suitable mounts, USDA-approved processing of imported bird trophies, and one-on-one bird taxidermy and habitat lessons in the on-site studio and aviary.
