Freedom Outdoors and Taxidermy

Freedom Outdoors and Taxidermy handles a wide range of big game, small game, birds, and fish, with especially heavy volume in whitetail deer along with other regional and exotic game animals.

They offer shoulder mounts, life-size mounts, European skull mounts, antler mounts, bird and fish work (both skin mounts and replicas), plus tanning and custom habitat bases.

Faron brings many years of hunting, guiding, and taxidermy experience, has guided hunters across several states with a reported 99% success record, and has led and participated in multiple state and national taxidermy associations, including serving as President of the Missouri Taxidermy Association.

The studio has operated since at least 2007 and has been full-time since early 2016, mounting 200–300 whitetail deer each year and building a reputation for detailed, lifelike, competition-caliber work.

They publish a detailed price list, with recent examples such as whitetail, mule deer, pronghorn, rams, wild boar, and black bear shoulder mounts starting around $1,000, life-size mammals ranging from about $695 to $5,500, birds like pheasant and turkey from the mid-hundreds to around $1,250, fish priced per inch for both skin mounts and replicas, and European skulls, antler mounts, custom habitat, soft-tan work, and shop labor all clearly itemized; a 50% deposit is required on all work, card payments incur a small fee, and mounts must be picked up within 30 days of notification or deposits and mounts may be forfeited.

Current stated turnaround is about 24 months, with rush service sometimes available for an additional 50% fee and an emphasis that quoted times are estimates and that the shop will call when your work is finished.

In addition to standard mounts, they provide soft tanning for various species, antler repair, hydrographic camo upgrades, personalized plates, and a wide range of custom artificial and driftwood habitats, pedestals, and panels.
