Monette Taxidermy

Monette Taxidermy primarily works on big game and small fur-bearing mammals, with additional availability for African and exotic species by request.

You can choose from shoulder, pedestal, life-size, European, antler or horn mounts, small mammal mounts, and bear rugs depending on your trophy and display goals.

Eric trained and certified in Iowa under World and National Champion whitetail taxidermist Joe Meder, and he bases every piece on extensive reference photos and anatomical study.

He stresses meticulous craftsmanship, including careful hide preparation, fine hand-painted details, and natural poses designed to deliver lifelike, competition-level results.

Monette Taxidermy publishes a detailed price list, with example pricing such as deer shoulder mounts at $900, black bear shoulder mounts at $950, and bison shoulder mounts at $2,000, plus separate rates for life-size, pedestal, European, antler or horn mounts, rugs, and extras; a 50% deposit is required before work begins and bases are billed at $40 per hour with a $300 minimum.

Typical completion time is about 10–12 months, and the studio notes it is fully booked for the 2025 season except for bears for rugging and tanning, with completed mounts required to be picked up within 30 days of notification.

Additional services include custom bases and habitat design, bear rugging and tanning through a dedicated rugging partner, antler-only and hoof mounts, bear paw and claw work, skull panels, and small antler accessories.
