The studio works primarily on big game, including North American species and select Asian, African, and exotic animals, and does not offer bird, fish, or reptile taxidermy.

You can choose from shoulder, pedestal, lifesize, rugs, and skull mounts, with options for custom habitat bases and artistic display work.

Owner and Master Taxidermist Doug Barnes has worked in taxidermy since 2001, progressing into the Masters division at state and national competitions, with Anna and Alyssa contributing award-winning finish work and expert hide preparation.

They use high-end materials and competition-level techniques to create realistic, show-quality mounts that aim to bring trophies “back to life.”

Pricing is published with detailed species and mount-type lists—for example, lifesize elk at $9,500, bison shoulder mounts at $3,250, and bear rugs starting at $2,450—with a 50% nonrefundable deposit, added fees for custom poses, habitat, velvet preservation, and extensive repairs, and species-specific skull-cleaning rates.

As a small studio, they do not guarantee completion dates; instead, they provide a reasonable timeframe when you bring in your trophy and note that tanning, shipping, and premium “Nature’s Masterpiece” pieces can extend turnaround, especially for dermestid beetle skull work and their five-slot-per-year premium service.

They also offer custom habitat bases, rugs, dermestid beetle skull cleaning with plaques, stock hides and capes, and a limited “Nature’s Masterpiece” line that requires show-quality hides.
