Pearson's Taxidermy

The studio works on a wide range of big game, small game, birds, waterfowl, and fish, as well as some African and other North American species.

Available mount styles include shoulder and game head mounts, full-body mounts, bird and waterfowl mounts, European and antler mounts, fish skin mounts, replica fish, and tanning services.

Owner Dave Pearson has over forty years of taxidermy experience, beginning formal study at age 12, training with leading taxidermists and sculptors, and earning a BS in Biology from Missouri Western State University in 1980.

He has competed extensively at state, national, and world levels, emphasizes high-quality, competition-level work, and creates original wildlife sculptures each year for the taxidermy industry.

Pearson's Taxidermy publishes a 2023–2024 price list with set prices for many North American game heads, lifesize mammals, birds, waterfowl, fish, tanning, and other services; examples include around $1,100 for a whitetail or mule deer shoulder mount, $2,000 for an elk shoulder mount, and per-inch pricing for fish with a minimum charge.

Tanning requires 100% prepayment, all other work requires a 50% deposit, mounts must be picked up within 30 days of completion notice unless other arrangements are made, and the studio notes it is limiting new work volume for the 2024–2025 season.

The studio also offers custom wildlife sculpture and sells life-size small mammal forms and other taxidermy supply forms through an online store.
